Role

Our client is looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Requirements & Solution Analyst. This role focuses on the early analysis of complex IT Infrastructure requests spanning multiple server-related infrastructure domains: understanding the real need behind each request, gathering relevant facts, clarifying assumptions, identifying missing information, and assessing possible solution directions before implementation decisions are made. The scope includes servers and application deployment on servers, including on-premise integration where relevant. It is not a pure cloud role and does not involve end-user devices or network topics. Individual teams continue to handle requests clearly within their own domain, but when a request impacts multiple teams (such as Ops Windows, Ops Linux, IAM, Application Management and Deployment of DBA's) or is too complex for a quick initial analysis, this role becomes the designated analyst to structure and refine the request. The role requires broad and mature knowledge of IT Infrastructure but is not intended as a hands-on engineering or operational implementation role.

The consultant is responsible for:

• Acting as a senior analyst for complex IT Infrastructure resource and service requests spanning multiple server-related infrastructure domains that cannot be fully assessed by one team or through a quick initial analysis

• Complementing, not replacing, domain teams: requests clearly belonging to Ops Windows, Ops Linux, IAM, Application Management and Deployment of DBA's remain with that team; requests impacting multiple of these teams come to this role for deeper requirement analysis and fact-finding

• Identifying the actual underlying need behind incoming requests and translating incomplete or unclear input into structured, understandable, and assessable infrastructure requirements

• Challenging assumptions, asking the right questions, identifying missing information, and documenting constraints, dependencies, risks, and potential impacts

• Discussing technical capabilities with relevant IT Infrastructure subject matter experts within the involved domains (Ops Windows, Ops Linux, IAM, Application Management and Deployment, DBA's)

• Evaluating whether requests fit within existing Elia IT standards and identifying where standards are unclear, incomplete, or not yet documented

• Preparing clear and substantiated request files for review and approval by the relevant decision-making body, including needs, possible options, constraints, risks, costs, and operational impact

• Supporting IT Infrastructure and Operations with architectural input and decision preparation as needed

• Approximately 20% of the role may involve infrastructure and server architecture activities, but the focus is on requirement analysis, solution shaping, and decision preparation

Required experience and skills

• Degree in Computer Science, specialist system integration training, or equivalent experience

• Proven senior experience in IT Infrastructure, preferably in complex enterprises with at least 500 employees

• Broad knowledge of server-related IT Infrastructure domains: Windows Server, Linux Red Hat, Active Directory, ADFS, modern authentication methods, databases, storage, virtualization, application management & deployment, data exchange platforms, RDP solutions, container solutions, security principles, and on-premise/cloud integration

• Ability to understand technical input from subject matter experts without needing to be a hands-on expert in every domain

• Strong experience in requirement gathering, clarifying requests, fact-finding, solution analysis, and preparing decision material

• Ability to identify possible solution directions, assess them against standards and constraints, and clearly and structuredly explain the considerations

• Not a primary hands-on implementation role: the ideal candidate has evolved from technical infrastructure work to analysis, solution shaping, and decision preparation, and is comfortable at a conceptual and architectural level

• Strong planning and organizational skills (strict deadlines, can handle stress)

• Strong analytical skills

• Security-focused mindset and strong practical common sense

• Strong presentation skills

• Fluent (oral) in Dutch and French (one as a native language) and English to stakeholders with different technical backgrounds

• Ability to work independently, customer-oriented, team player

• Quick learner of new products and environments

• Sense of responsibility — no 9-to-5 mentality
