Freelance Senior Functional Analyst

In the context of a major business transformation program, we are looking for a senior functional analyst to reinforce the existing teams.
As a senior analyst, you will join a department of about 90 people to ensure the handover, refactoring or greenfield development of new business applications.
The functional analyst we are looking for can handle all phases of a project and work in an Agile environment.

You will support the team and be responsible for:

• Developing strong, long-term relationships with stakeholders (business and project stakeholders, team managers and our partners)

• Identifying, analyzing, describing and validating in detail both existing business processes and new functional and non-functional user needs

• Translating requirements into business solutions by creating functional analyses and application designs

• Working with technical team members to validate the functional design and translate it into technical specifications

• Following up end to end on the delivery of new functionalities and/or applications

• Producing all documentation needed throughout the different project stages

• Working closely with the business analysts and developers, under the supervision of the project managers/coordinators, to refine and validate the proposed solutions

• Working closely with the project managers to report status, facilitate decisions, manage risks and escalate as needed

Deliverables

The senior analyst is responsible for delivering the following within the agreed deadlines:

• Analysis documentation

• Software requirements specifications (including the necessary diagrams, analyses, etc.)

• Data model

• User stories

• Test plan and test cases

Mission & Working Hours

• Location: Brussels, right in front of Brussels-South station

• Contract: initial contract; the mission is long-term and can be extended

• Working hours: 5 days a week, Monday to Friday (7h48 per day)

• Homeworking: possible 3 days a week

Competencies

• Very good functional and business analysis skills, with the ability to quickly assimilate and abstract complex material

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with both the business and the development team

• Solution- and customer-oriented

• Willing to change business context regularly

• Able to integrate easily into an existing team and supervise juniors

• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies

• The application ecosystem is relatively extensive and relies on classic development technologies (J2EE, Java 8, Oracle, Hibernate, JUnit, Selenium, Maven, Git, Jira, etc.)

• Mastery of the technical language needed to carry out functional analyses (APIs, mappings, business model, batches, services, etc.); the analyst role itself does not involve technical tasks

• Able to act as the interface with the client and help them define their needs

• Good knowledge of the second national language (a plus)

Due to the nature of the activities, the candidate must have Belgian nationality.
