Freelance Functional Analyst

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Business Analyst to join our team. The main responsibilities of this role include:

• Creating and maintaining use case descriptions, user interface specifications, and web service specifications

• Updating all documentation in Enterprise Architect, including use cases and data models

• Developing and maintaining logical data models (Entity-Relationship diagrams)

• Utilizing data and process modeling techniques and tools

• Demonstrating knowledge of BPMN

• Translating concepts provided by business analysts and collaborating with various IT teams

• Conducting impact analysis of new or modified legislation on existing systems

• Estimating analysis tasks and performing peer reviews of functional analyses

• Reporting risks to the project manager and investigating production issues

• Participating in workgroups, team meetings, and individual discussions

• Being customer-focused and a team player

• Possessing a minimum of 5 years of experience with large mission-critical applications

• Language requirement: Proficiency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2

• Understanding project development methodologies

• Having a positive, energetic, and assertive personality

The client currently follows a waterfall methodology, with detailed analyses rather than user stories. A longer onboarding period is necessary due to the nature of the work. The client allows a maximum of 205 man-days per year, with the option for remote work (1 day per week in Brussels, with flexibility for urgent meetings and the possibility of meetings at the client's offices in Aalst).

Intensive work is done with the following tools:

• MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint (or equivalent)

• JIRA

• SharePoint

• Sparx Enterprise Architect

• SQL developer (or similar tool)

• Able to demonstrate experience with the SQL language (Advanced)

• Able to demonstrate experience in creating Use cases, user interface specifications, webservice interface specificities - Senior (10.00 years)

• Able to demonstrate experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect

• Able to demonstrate experience in creating data models (Entity Relationship diagrams)

• Able to demonstrate experience with JIRA

• Able to demonstrate experience with SQL developer (or similar tool)

• Able to demonstrate experience within the Flemish government is a plus

• Able to demonstrate experience in translating requirements into system models and/or application specifications

• Able to demonstrate experience with the technology in question or a similar technology - Expert (8.00 years)

• Good demonstrable knowledge of requirement analysis & design concepts for OO, multi-tier, and web-enabled, and/or UML environments

• Language requirement: Dutch-speaking at European CEFR level C2

• Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of data and process modeling techniques and tools

• Higher education (Master or Bachelor) with a technical/engineering background or equivalent through experience with ICT technology for which expertise is required
