For our client in Antwerp, we are looking for a Data Analyst:

For the temporary reinforcement of our Data Team, we are looking for a Senior Data Analyst. The consultant plays a key role in designing and building scalable data models and semantic layers within our modern data platform. The focus is on reliable, reusable data solutions that support strategic decision-making and self-service analytics.

The assignment is mainly in the gold layer and you will be using Microsoft Fabric, DBT, SQL, and Power BI. In addition to the technical execution, we expect the consultant to take ownership of modeling, standards, and best practices, and to mentor less experienced colleagues.

• Translating business needs into scalable and consistent data models and semantic structures.

• Designing and implementing robust, business-oriented, and dimensional data models in DBT.

• Expanding, maintaining, and further structuring the central data model in the gold layer.

• Defining and monitoring standards for data modeling, naming conventions, testing, documentation, and versioning.

• Integrating data from different sources into coherent and reusable models.

• Ensuring data consistency, reusability, and quality rules.

• Working closely with data engineers to ensure alignment between source data, silver, and gold.

• Translating business needs into KPIs, measures, and clear semantic definitions.

• Facilitating self-service analytics through clear datasets, semantic models, and appropriate governance.

• Acting as a substantive sparring partner for business stakeholders and technical colleagues.

• Providing tailored explanations on the use and content of semantic models.

• Actively promoting knowledge sharing, coaching, and further maturity within the team.

Profile

• Several years of proven experience as a Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or in a similar senior data role.

• Demonstrable production experience with DBT, including modeling, testing, and documentation.

• Very good knowledge of SQL.

• Strong experience with Power BI, with a focus on datasets and semantic models.

• Thorough knowledge of dimensional modeling, including facts and dimensions.

• Experience in designing scalable, consistent, and reusable data models.

• Experience in close collaboration with data engineers and business stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, communicative, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to take ownership independently and transfer knowledge to the internal team.

Required experience:

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or a similar modern data platform.

• Knowledge of Git, data contracts, and CI/CD.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Experience in the insurance sector is a plus.
