The role:

As a Data Solution Architect, you translate complex data challenges into flawless, end-to-end technical solutions. You easily navigate complex data environments, handle customer needs with confidence, and translate new technical features into clear business benefits for stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

• Create, describe, and manage the overall strategic technical vision for modern data platform solutions.

• Act as the ultimate bridge between business objectives and technical execution, defining requirements and outlining every phase of the project.

• Analyze existing customer environments and technologies to recommend the absolute best solutions and roadmaps.

• Build proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to validate proposed solutions and perform deep-dive design, debugging, and performance analysis.

• Provide strong technical leadership to the team, keeping stakeholders closely informed on progress while clearly documenting and sharing best practices.

Skills we’re looking for

Must-have:

• Strong experience in data architecture, including designing end-to-end data solutions, data platforms, data models, and data integration architectures.

• Combine strong data architecture expertise with a solid understanding of modern data platforms, integration patterns, and cloud technologies.

• Excellent understanding of data modelling, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, relational and dimensional modelling, and data warehouse/lakehouse concepts.

• Hands-on experience with modern data platforms and technologies, such as lakehouses, data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, streaming, and event-driven architectures.

• Experience with architecture principles and frameworks, and the ability to define target architectures, architecture roadmaps, standards, and technology choices.

• Strong SQL and database knowledge, with experience across both traditional and modern database technologies.

• Proven experience in providing strategic recommendations and roadmaps for complex data solutions.

• The ability to perform design, debugging, and performance analysis on data infrastructure.

• Excellent communication skills, enabling you to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business teams, data engineers, developers, security specialists, infrastructure teams, and enterprise architects.

Nice-to-have:

• Strong knowledge of data integration and data engineering, including batch and real-time data processing, orchestration, data pipelines, and integration patterns.

• Cloud architecture expertise, preferably with one or more major cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure/Fabric, Google BigQuery, AWS or Oracle.

• Understanding of data governance and security, including data quality, metadata management, master data, lineage, privacy, access management, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience or affinity with data visualisation and reporting tools.

Languages:

• Fluent in Dutch or French, with a strong knowledge of English.
