Freelance Senior Java Developer /Technical Lead

The team is, together with another team, responsible for the ledenbeheer application. This means that two separate scrum teams work on the same application, increasing the coordination effort needed for integration testing, release preparation, and overall consistency.

The current Technical Lead will be taking time off for private reasons, requiring a Senior Java Technical Lead to ensure continuity, quality, and architectural oversight.

Responsabilités/verantwoordelijkheden :

1. Sprint support & team guidance

·       Support and coach junior/medior colleagues to develop clean and maintainable solutions.

·       Review code and maintain technical standards

·       Java development

·       Lead release/test coordination across two teams

·       Combine structured decision-making with creative problem-solving and decisive execution

·       Technical support during user story refinement

·       Setup the foundation for new microservices and the skeleton for complex flows

·       Follow-up and fix security vulnerabilities

2. Cross team long-term architecture

·       Take a leading role in maintain the roadmap to go from the current WebLogic application to Spring Boot microservices together with the other Technical Leads and the Solution Architect.

·       Ensure architectural choices are scalable, maintainable, secure, performant and vendor-independent

·       Balance short-term sprint needs with long-term vision

·       Participation in technical governance across teams

Profil / Profiel

Technical:

·       Senior Java engineer with leadership experience

·       Strong architectural insight and helicopter view

·       Expertise in Spring Boot and experience with microservices

·       Cloud experience (AWS preferred)

·       Experience splitting legacy systems

Behavioral & Interpersonal:

·       Structured and analytical decision-making

·       Open to innovation and proactive in starting new initiatives

·       Decisive and able to accelerate progress

·       Effective communicator in a multiteam environment

·       Real team player who coaches the developers

Languages:

·       Dutch (preferred) or French
