One crucial part of our services consists of software for various applications within personnel management and payroll administration. To lead the further growth of our software department, we are looking for a Solution Architect with the necessary technical expertise to elevate our complex projects to a higher level.

Your tasks as a Solution Architect are varied and challenging. You play a key role in the transition of our legacy environments to modern cloud-native solutions.

Your responsibilities include:

• Architectural vision & guidelines: You define the guidelines and architecture for both new and existing software projects, in close collaboration with the development teams.

• Modernization & SaaS transition: You assist in streamlining and modernizing existing applications and guide the migration to Azure-based SaaS models (e.g., via AKS and Azure Container Apps).

• Technical analysis & Integration: You develop in-depth analyses for complex issues, such as centralized configuration management, IAM integrations (OIDC/OAuth2), and the linkage between on-premise installations and cloud services.

• Communication & Coordination: You act as the crucial link between the different teams (Development, Cloud/DevOps, and DBA) and coordinate technical implementations.

• Technological innovation: You closely follow technological evolutions and best practices, evaluate their applicability within the environment, and advise on the most efficient way of working.

Location: Meulebeke, West Flanders

Duration: full-time for 1 year

Hybrid work: min 3 days onsite, preference for someone from the local region

Requested skills:

• You have a pronounced experience in software development, both in development and in designing complex system architectures.

• You have in-depth knowledge of (part of) our stack and are willing to delve into the rest:

  • Backend & Legacy: Java (Spring Boot). Experience with Cobol/ISAM environments is a strong asset.

  • Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, Angular.

  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Azure (AKS, Container Apps, Key Vault, Service Bus, APIM), Kafka, GitHub Actions.

• Analytical & Communicative: You are strongly analytical and can clearly translate complex technical concepts to both developers and stakeholders, verbally and in writing.

• Leadership: You have a can-do attitude, you coach and inspire colleagues, and take ownership of architectural decisions.

• Legacy Modernization: Experience with refactoring and transforming legacy applications into a modular, layered architecture is a big plus.
