Medior Business Analyst

We are looking for a highly adaptable Business Analyst to support a fast-paced and evolving finance transformation environment. The team is currently facing a significant workload driven by critical upcoming deliverables, shifting priorities and continuously evolving business requirements.

The successful candidate will operate in a dynamic setting where not all requirements are fully defined upfront. We are therefore looking for someone who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, works proactively and can quickly understand both financial and technical topics. Rather than waiting for detailed instructions, this person takes ownership, asks the right questions and actively helps bring structure and clarity to complex situations.

A significant part of the role will focus on gathering, clarifying and translating business requirements related to processes and systems. The consultant will support the delivery of key project milestones while helping stakeholders navigate ongoing changes, new requirements and evolving priorities.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a high-speed environment, remains effective under changing circumstances and is energized by solving problems in situations where not everything is known from day one. The ideal candidate can quickly grasp both financial and technical concepts, communicate confidently with a variety of stakeholders and adapt easily as priorities shift. This is not a role for someone who requires a highly structured environment with clearly defined requirements from the outset. Success in this position depends on the ability to adapt quickly, learn rapidly and remain effective in a constantly evolving landscape.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, challenge and document business requirements from stakeholders across Finance and other business domains, including reporting, planning, consolidation and performance management requirements

• Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and support solution design activities

• Act as a trusted partner for stakeholders by understanding both business objectives and system capabilities

• Facilitate communication between business users, project teams and technical experts

• Analyze processes, data flows and business challenges to identify effective solutions

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of finance-related systems and processes

• Participate in functional analysis, testing and validation activities to ensure successful delivery

• Assist in data analysis and reconciliation efforts where required

• Adapt quickly to changing business priorities and support multiple initiatives simultaneously

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree (preferred); strong relevant experience and bachelor’s/master’s-level thinking and capabilities can compensate

• At least 3–5 years of experience in a similar role in a fast-paced corporate environment

Must-have skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder interaction skills, including with Business Controllers, FP&A teams and other Finance stakeholders

• Independent, proactive and assertive attitude, also with limited guidance

• Understanding of finance terminology and financial processes

• Experience with requirements gathering and functional analysis

• Strong Excel skills

• Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment with changing priorities

• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset

• Ability to learn fast and quickly become productive in a new environment

Nice-to-have skills

• Experience with OneStream or similar performance management and consolidation tools

• Exposure to Snowflake

• Basic SQL knowledge

• Experience supporting finance transformation programs

• Knowledge of data reconciliation and data quality processes

• Experience in telecommunications, utilities or other large corporate environments

• Dutch language skills
